4-29-2012 Farm Trip

Dash is really good at identifying animals and making farm animal sounds.
It was a nice day, so we decided to head to Slate Run Farm so he could see some of the animals up close.  (I don't think he has ever been to a farm, so there were many smiles and exclamations of  "Wow!"

We saw the sheep and baby lambs first.  Dash and Sadie liked reaching in to pet them.

Sadie was in "exploration mode" and Daddy went with her to see what kinds of things were in all the buildings, while Mommy hung with Dash and the animals.

Sadie read the signs saying what was going to be planted in the garden.

Sadie and Daddy headd into the house where the "farm actors" were having lunch

She played with some old toys

Dash really liked the barn where he saw farm tools, cows and horses.

Sadie is caught in a picture feeding the pigs when Mommy said "Do not stick your hands in the pig sty."  Notice Mommy is not looking.

The kids insisted on climbing the rocks with their boots on - we were perilously close to loosing some teeth.

Sadie's glam shot

"What's up Turkey, jealous of my juice?"

 Farmer Dash (with firefighter boots)
The swing was lots of fun.
Dash needed a little sack - good thing Mommy came prepared with veggie fries.

If there is a fence, we'll climb it.

4-19-2012 Little Girl's day with Mom and Dad

Grandma volunteered to take Dash for the night, so Mommy and Daddy had a special evening with Sadie.  We dressed up in our finest duds.  I braided Sadie's hair like a princess.  We went out to eat (Chick-fil-a), to the pet store, to a movie (Hugo), and to half-priced books.  Our little girl is getting so big, and we had such a nice time with her.

(Unfortunately, the camera was not plugged in and died after this picture)

4-8-2012 Easter at GGs and Papa's

Dash loved those Easter treats.

He also liked Daddy's old sailor suit - found in the attic.

He loves this tee shirt and actually brought it over to me so I could put it on him.

The man-zapper

Easter egg hunting.

Sadie looks so pretty in this picture.

Running to get all the eggs.

Sitting with her BFF Aunt Jill looking through her eggs.

BFF

Sadie and her people.

Dash is nervous that if Aunt Jill is around, Mommy may be leaving.

Look at the gigantic bunny Aunt Jill gave Sadie - gg gave Sadie one that wasn't hollow!  For the count - that's at least 2 large, chocolate treats (side effects may include: hearing-impairment, crazy noise-making, running around, crying for no reason, and driving parents crazy)

4-7-2012 Easter Egg Hunt and visit from Duffys

The policeman got a better shot of Sadie than I did.  They started the hunt before I even made it outside.  Luckily, Sadie was with our neighbors and was there at the beginning.  It was a little faster than she expected and we had a few tears because she didn't get ALL the eggs.  She snapped out of it pretty quickly and even gave one of her friends who didn't get very many her biggest egg - proud Mom moment.

I love this look.

Sadie explaining - if only adults didn't need so much help, her life would be so much easier.

Dash is content to ride his tractor.

Or be pushed by Daddy.

Dash was our little MVP.  He knew exactly what to do and even got a few eggs off the Easter bunny - which he distributed to other kids.  (He was a little confused that the bunny kept holding her basket up where he couldn't reach, when clearly there were more eggs.)

Grandma gave Sadie some bubbles for Easter - this was taken right before she spilled them.  We have never actually gone through a bubble bottle without it being spilled.

No, Grandma, it is like this...

Dash moved from the tractor to the push mower to get the tricky spots.

The Duffy Fam.

Sadie wanted to be held like a princess - that means like a baby.

Dominic met us at the egg hunt - this was the most "normal" picture before Sadie started acting goofy for the camera.  By the way - my favorite dress ever - after the hunt, sadie sucked on the top button while she had a piece of red candy in her mouth creating a bright pink ring around her neck - we had to change dresses for when the Duffys came :(
