4-7-2012 Easter Egg Hunt and visit from Duffys

The policeman got a better shot of Sadie than I did.  They started the hunt before I even made it outside.  Luckily, Sadie was with our neighbors and was there at the beginning.  It was a little faster than she expected and we had a few tears because she didn't get ALL the eggs.  She snapped out of it pretty quickly and even gave one of her friends who didn't get very many her biggest egg - proud Mom moment.

I love this look.

Sadie explaining - if only adults didn't need so much help, her life would be so much easier.

Dash is content to ride his tractor.

Or be pushed by Daddy.

Dash was our little MVP.  He knew exactly what to do and even got a few eggs off the Easter bunny - which he distributed to other kids.  (He was a little confused that the bunny kept holding her basket up where he couldn't reach, when clearly there were more eggs.)

Grandma gave Sadie some bubbles for Easter - this was taken right before she spilled them.  We have never actually gone through a bubble bottle without it being spilled.

No, Grandma, it is like this...

Dash moved from the tractor to the push mower to get the tricky spots.

The Duffy Fam.

Sadie wanted to be held like a princess - that means like a baby.

Dominic met us at the egg hunt - this was the most "normal" picture before Sadie started acting goofy for the camera.  By the way - my favorite dress ever - after the hunt, sadie sucked on the top button while she had a piece of red candy in her mouth creating a bright pink ring around her neck - we had to change dresses for when the Duffys came :(

2012 March Phone Pics

We have discovered that Dash loves breakfast food - well anything smothered in syrup.  Grandma Duffy, Mommy and the kids all went to Frisch's breakfast bar and we stayed for a long time while Dash got his fill.

Mommy was tired of Dash's hair in his eyes and after a particularly hot day Dash was covered in sweat.  We decided it was time for a summer haircut.  Mommy had to give up the hope of seeing beautiful golden ringlets - neither of our kids have curly hair :(
Now he looks like such a big boy!

Sadie and Mommy made Easter cookies - this was out improvised attempt at pink flowers.  After five tries with the cookie press, Mommy gave up and used kitchen shears to cut flowers.

Our neighbor, and sometimes babysitter, Anna invited us to see her school musical.  Sadie had a great time and Anna did such a good job!  Christina was very busy directing traffic and creating "reserved" signs with a crayon to save our seats.

2012 March Videos

Dash is fascinated by Henry's train.
(He listens very well - Mommy told him not to touch)

Listen to these crazy monkeys - Sadie and Dash thought it was very funny.

Sadie wants to get the song done quickly so she can dig into that cake.  Happy Birthday GG Grandma!

3/24/2012 GG Grandma Duffy's birthday

Dash came to Grandma's with a new haircut.  He looks like such a big boy now!

Like the other males at Grandma's house, Dash was really into the March Madness.  He was yelling "Go!Go!" at the screen and pointing and clapping when they made baskets.
Happy Birthday GG Grandma!

Everyone loved the cake - especially Dasher

(In fact, the sugar rush was a little overwhelming, and Sadie had to go outside and run laps in Grandpa's beautiful backyard.  We could hear her yelling, singing, and laughing inside the house.)

3-17-2012 St. Patrick's Day

We headed downtown for the parade (as a spur of the moment idea).
Turns out the St. Patrick's Day parade in Columbus is AWESOME.
Not too many people, cheap and easy parking, easy to see the parade, decent parade, and lots of candy throwers.  We were also pretty lucky with the beautiful weather (ha!).

Some things were very exciting.

This is Sadie's polite wave while she waits for the candy throwing participants.

Go military - but hurry up candy-throwers.

Look at how close the horses were to us!  (You can't see it, but the white hair on their legs was dyed green.)

Dash's favorite thing were all of the emergency vehicles that went (wee-oo, wee-oo, wee-oo)

Close picture of Daddy and kids.
(It was difficult to see the display with the sun - and I thought I was going to get run over by the bicycles)

Eat your heart out Junie!

Sadie's St. Patrick's Day skirt (made with vintage material from my Mom).
this picture looks funny under the other one.

Dash and the horse were eyeing each other.  Wonder what they are thinking.
"Yeah you are strapped in, but I got this dude sitting on my back."

102.5 (the best radio station) and the mustache guy.

Jugglers

Parade was too exciting to look at the camera.

Sadie showing off her prize.  (She didn't have to do very much scavenging for candy because the older people in the audience would collect it and give it to her. #easy being cute)

Sadie was wondering farther and farther into the middle of the street.

The fire engine knew how to get her back to the side.
